Why carbon ratings are only part of the regenerative agriculture story

Investors and companies insist transitioning to farming practices more in tune with nature means measuring a multitude of outcomes Earlier this month, carbon rating agency BeZero Carbon said it had published the industry’s first ever rating of a regenerative agriculture project. The BBB rating indicated the North American project “has a moderate likelihood of achieving a tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent removed or avoided”, said BeZero — of the 400-plus carbon projects rated on its platform, only 18 per cent are rated BBB or higher.
