India Achieves Highest-Ever Foodgrain Output, Sets New Records in Rice and Wheat Production
India has achieved its highest-ever foodgrain production at 357.73 million tonnes in 2024-25, rising 106 million tonnes over the last decade. Rice output hit a record 1,501.84 lakh tonnes and wheat 1,179.45 lakh tonnes. Oilseed production also reached an all-time high of 429.89 lakh tonnes. The government said expanded MSP procurement and policy support continue to benefit farmers nationwide.
