Three months ago, many Midwest farmers were not only in the middle of harvest but also in the midst of mild to devastating drought. Halfway through the first month of 2025, all Midwest states are in much better shape. Here’s a look at the improvement, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report, along with how December precipitation in each state has helped 2025 start out strong.
